ACTIVITIES IN GERMANY

The meeting in Bergrheinfeld is the first project meeting. We will meet some of our partners for the very first time so we will plan enough time for teachers’ meetings to plan and exchange ideas. The focus of our activities will be on tangible heritage but we will also have some activities about local traditions.

So these are the activities planned:

  • Welcome ceremony with local municipality.
  • Presentation of the school by local students.
  • Sports afternoon with icebreakers (getting to know each other, team work).
  • Students present their schools and regions with interactive presentations of their choice. (introducing new ICT apps, presenting in a foreign language).
  • Guided Snap-Tour through Bergrheinfeld created by the students. Introducing new apps, being entrepreneurs will promote their self-esteem and independence. (s.timetable).
  • Arts workshop making collages of monuments using Apps like Psychopaint and Lunapix. (new apps, being autonomous, choosing methods that fit their need, creativity, collaboration with new partners will be promoted). Results will be given to partners and uploaded to Twinspace. (s. timetable)
  • Visit of the Sachs exhibition: That interactive exhibition offers a lot of information about the industrial heritage and also gives an outlook to the industries future. The ball bearing industry is of enormous significance to the region and also to many of our students' families.
  • Guided walk round Schweinfurt (tangible heritage).
  • Project about local Christmas traditions(learning through teaching, experiencing a foreign culture with different senses). Self-made products taken home as souvenirs. (s. timetable).
  • Day trip to Nürnberg and Frankfurt.
  • Preparation of a typical Franconian lunch by students.
  • Competition in the game of nine-pins.
  • Coordination activities (teachers):
  • Presentation of Bavarian/German school system.
  • Introduction to mobility tool.
  • Presentation of Erasmus activities at each school.
  • Talk about achievements and problems.
  • Planning of next activities.
  • Evaluation of the meeting.

Some activities will be joint activities of teachers and parents, other activities will be supervised by local teachers while coordinators meet for coordination activities.
Some of the activities prepared by Bergrheinfeld’s students will be worked on during ordinary classes, others during special meetings of the Erasmus teams.
Preperations of activities brought to the meeting can be prepared in normal English, history and ICT classes at the partner schools.
As all our schools teach English, support an open, integrative, tolerant climate, use new methodologies, and expect autonomous learning of their students our activities are related to the normal school activities in many ways. We checked all our countries curricula before starting the project and made sure all our activities are conform to them as well as to our partners’ main goals.
