ACTIVITIES IN GREECE
The programme will include the following components:
- Guided tour developed by students round Kyparissias.
- We will celebrate Europe day by playing different games and dancing traditional folk dances, as this will involve a lot of presenting, it will last longer than one day and be more like a festival: Presentation of traditional games produced by students (video, short booklet with rules), that they researched for at home.
Students will choose, present and play together with their peers from other countries traditional group games. The objective of the activity is for students to learn to cooperate under the same purpose, to learn that they share a common game heritage, to learn that win and loss are part of their life and that fair-play is important for their integration to the society.
Each school will embody and organize such activities during sport classes or projects related to technology (video creation). All the games that will be chosen from each country will be presented and played. Each school will finally undertake the obligation to incorporate at least one of the games that is shared between partners in its school sport lessons.
Dance workshops:
Students will learn the steps of local traditional dances of their own (at home) but also of other countries, along with their peers from other countries. They will create videos of each countries dances and a small booklet with brief description of the steps, the lyrics. Students through dance will learn to cooperate, to understand each other as well as to ensure good health, well-being, good physical condition, beautiful body, kind soul, cultured spirit, nice behavior, relaxation, fun, self-esteem. They will also improve their skills in new technologies while creating videos.
Each school will embody and organize such activities during sport classes, research will be done during informatics lessons. All the dances that will be chosen from each country will be presented and danced in dance lessons. An overall presentation of the chosen dances will be held at the final project meeting in Greece and a video will be created.
Apart from that we will all bring a local special food to Greece and produce something traditionally Greek together. Along with their typical food for Europe day, students will bring the leaflets of the traditional food, so that they can be collected. Where possible, we will integrate some of the food in our schools cafeterias.
All the activities will be integrated into the ordinary schedule at all our schools and students will benefit from them for their future work.
As the meeting in Greece will be our final meeting a lot of time will be devoted to recapitulate the project. We will look at all our projects and activities again and look for our strengths and weaknesses one last time. The final evaluation will be held at the meeting and results will be disseminated to the partners. We will also talk about the writing of the final report.
