ACTIVITIES IN FRANCE
During our meeting in France in the second year, the students from each country will make different activities that have to do with cultural heritage.
The participants will gather in 6 different teams (with pupils from each country).
- The teachers will meet and discuss about their previous visit, they will quiz partcipants about their work on cultural heritage. Then we will visit the school and the town by cycling or walking around the streets. Each group will have a referent to take photos and another one to take notes. It will be presented as a treasure quest, with at the end, an award for the two fastest team to collect all information. Students will then present the results they achievd working on local sagas and folk stories over the summer.
- Their major activity will be to make a photo reportage on local places. So the next two days will be reserved to visits in Sedan, to see the biggest European medieval castle and in Reims, the capital town of champagne. The last visit will include a visit of the caves and parks. We will have a picnic over there, and a guided tour to learn about history and French customs on food and drink.
- Then, teachers will work together to make their intermediate assessment on the project. They will discuss about what has been done by the students, and what can be improved for the second year. At the same time, the pupils participants will be asked to share two hours in French classrooms to live an immersion with their host partner. For the rest of the day, they will work on their visits, and prepare their review or report. To complete their report, the teachers will guide the pupils on how to do their audioguide on the French cultural heritage. To do that, the teachers will be free to make their pupils use different tools (powerpoint, utellstory, prezi, canva, powtoonn, google slide) depending on the ease of the pupil with the tool. It may be necessary to save two or three hours to explain and help the pupils to use the tools. It will also be asked to some pupils to make A3 posters, so that some report will be online and other will be written and visible in the respective schools. The reports will be made in English.
When they will return home, they will share their work on the twinspace of Etwinning, on the pages created by the French partner to maintain a regular communication with the different countries and to motivate the pupils to keep on talking to their host partner.
